Looks good! What color did you use on the walls of the Harrison project? Thank you!

  2. Jennifer says:

Hi! Gorgeous! What color did you use on the black cabinets?

  3. Samantha says:

I love this! Currently finding all the inspo for our kitchen remodel. May I ask what color you used on the cabinets? Thank you!

    • Mollie Mason says:

Thanks, Samantha! I’m glad you love it and it’s providing inspiration for your own project! We used Impervo oil based Satin Black for cabinets on the kitchen cabinets in this house. Hope your remodel turns out great!

  4. I do consider all the ideas you have offered in your post. They are really convincing and will certainly work. Still, the posts are too brief for newbies. May you please prolong them a little from next time? Thank you for the post.

I’m in awe with your remodel!! This is exactly the style I’ve been wanting to achieve! I’m wondering if you could tell me more about your flooring? I want to do black shaker cabinets with white walls in my new home remodel (my new home is a 1943 stone Tudor I am absolutely in love with but it’s needing lots of TLC!!). I’m wanting to go with a lighter color like yours in an engineered hardwood and wondering what your flooring is? Thanks in advance for any info you are able to offer!

    • Mollie Mason says:

Hi Shalene, thanks for the compliments! Most of the house had original hardwoods that we restored, but we added the wood in the kitchen because it had tile. We sanded it and then we sealed it with this: https://amzn.to/2yis0K6
It gives it the white-ish, matte look I love so much. I don’t have an engineered hardwood to recommend because both of these projects had real original wood, but if you find something with a similar look, let me know what you end up with!

I can’t wait to see what your project looks like!

I noticed you used brass everywhere. Can you contain it to certain rooms or do you really need the entire house? I. E no was thinking about using some brass around our living room, kitchen and downstairs bathroom. In my girls bathroom all Matte black, and then chrome in our bathroom with light grey tiles. All our door knobs will be black around the entire house. Thoughts? We re going to start building a house in a historical area.

    • Mollie Mason says:

Great question, Angela. You can definitely mix metals. I love the aged brass for the historic homes, but I often mix metals and in fact recommend it. A general rule of thumb is 2 metals per room and to keep the man fixtures the same (so all brass faucets in a bathroom with black accents). Hope your place turns out great! Come back and share some pictures 🙂

Can I ask about the door you used for the barn door? I want that style interior doors and I need a barn door to match.

  10. Alicia says:

I love this house and the nice mixture of the old with the new. The wood floors look especially great. We actually just had our old wood floor refinished and I love the results. It’s crazy how a little restoration can make a home feel updated and classic at the same time.

Beautifully done! I am looking for details on the master bathroom shower tile. It’s gorgeous!

    • Mollie Mason says:

Thanks, Morgan! So glad you love it 🙂 We got the tile from Floor & Decor and they don’t carry the exact one any longer but similar options. It’s a marble-look porcelain tile – great affordability and durability.

Hi! Your master bath is so beautifully done! I am wondering how your shower faucet has been holding up over time? I just ordered the same one from ebay and some of the negative reviews are making me nervous! Thanks!
